About Me

It is essential to find a therapist that is right for you.

I have a B.A. degree in History and Education and have worked in the corporate field for 25 years working around the world including Africa, Middle East, Europe and the Caribbean where I have experienced many cultures and met and worked with some amazing people. I hold an Fd.Sc in Counselling and I am a BACP registered humanistic counsellor (MBACP). The foundation of my work is Person Centred and the work of Carl Rogers along with the theoretical models of Gestalt and Existentialism, but above all I am a human being and I am here to support your exploration of your self. I have also undergone training in Transactional Analysis.

I have experience of working with clients who have presented with issues of  Social and General Anxiety, Anger, Depression, Self Harm, Bereavement and the grieving process, Transgender and gender re-assignment,  ADHD, Autism, Low Self Esteem and Relationship Issues.  I have also worked with clients who are blind and partially sighted. I voluntarily counsel one day a week in a sixth form college in Hampshire counselling adolescents with a variety of issues as well as having my own private practice.

I am a fully qualified “Healthrythms” and “Rhythm to Recovery” facilitator as well as a certified VMC ( Village Music Circles ) Drum Circle Facilitator. I use drumming in groups and sometimes in individual counselling sessions. These groups include cancer sufferer and survivor groups, hospices working with children, adults and other counsellors as well as members of other vulnerable groups. I use the drum to assist in the release of tension, stress and the non verbal expression of emotions as well as a tool to help people start or enhance their exploratory journey and to understand themselves.

I am based in Bookham, Surrey and have a private office that serves as my consulting room.
